Arrest made in connection to the killing of a pregnant Amish woman in Pennsylvania

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – A suspect is in custody days after a 23-year-old pregnant Amish girl was discovered with cuts to her head and neck earlier this week.

In keeping with Pennsylvania State Police, 52-year-old Shawn Cranston was taken into custody following a five-day investigation. 

He’s now dealing with fees of prison murder, prison murder of an unborn little one, housebreaking, and prison trespassing. 

On Monday, state police had been notified of a lady useless at a house on Fish Flats Street in Sparta Township, Crawford County. 

When troopers arrived, they discovered the 23-year-old girl with slicing wounds to her neck and head. She was recognized as Rebekah Byler and troopers dominated her dying a murder. 

Her husband, Andy Byler, discovered her physique “a brief distance inside” the house shortly after midday on Monday. 

The 2 younger kids inside the house weren’t harmed on the time of Byler’s dying. 

Cranston is now being held on the Crawford County Jail.
