DEWHURST, Minn. — 9 persons are lifeless after a crash between a semi and van shut down a stretch of Freeway 95 Friday in west-central Wisconsin.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned the deadly crash occurred on the freeway close to County Highway J within the Township of Dewhurst, which is about 50 miles east of Eau Claire. The crash was reported at 7:53 a.m. Friday morning.
In line with the sheriff’s workplace, the van was driving north on the county street and entered the intersection at Freeway 95. That is when the semi, which was eastbound on the freeway, collided with the van.

In a current submit on X, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers lamented the crash, thanked first responders and confirmed the deaths of 9 folks.

In line with officers, 9 folks have died on account of the crash. Coroner Clarissa Rochester pronounced the driving force of the semi lifeless on the scene. There have been 9 folks within the van, eight have been pronounced lifeless on the scene, together with the driving force. One passenger within the van survived and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. The Wisconsin State Patrol is aiding with the investigation.
That stretch of Freeway 95 was closed for hours on Friday, and motorists have been requested to keep away from the world. The crash has been cleared and Freeway 95 and Freeway J have been reopened to visitors. Names of everybody concerned haven’t but been launched to the general public.
