Stacy Wakefield, the spouse of former Boston Crimson Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield, died Wednesday of pancreatic most cancers, the Red Sox announced.

“It’s with deep unhappiness that we share that our beloved mom, daughter, sister, niece, and aunt, Stacy, handed away in the present day at her residence in Massachusetts,” the household mentioned in an announcement.

“She was surrounded by her household and expensive associates, in addition to her great caretakers and nurses. The loss is unimaginable, particularly within the wake of dropping Tim just below 5 months in the past. Our hearts are past damaged.”

Tim — who performed 19 MLB seasons, together with 17 for Boston from 1995 to 2011, and helped the Crimson Sox win two World Sequence titles — died Oct. 1 after a battle with mind most cancers. He had a seizure following surgical procedure to handle his most cancers.

The couple have been married in 2002, and they’re survived by their kids, Trevor and Brianna.
